Thank you to Perspectives Editor SallyAnn Giess for another terrific issue. She works all year to keep Perspectives high in quality and interest for all Special Interest Group (SIG) 16 affiliates. In addition to serving as Editor, SallyAnn will become our newest Coordinating Committee member in 2012.
As 2011 comes to a close, there are many people to thank for their service and many SIG 16 successes to celebrate. First, I want to thank Ruth Callahan for serving two terms on the Coordinating Committee. Ruth has served as our Chairperson of Committees and has recently been involved in our Literacy Project. We will miss the insight and experience she brought to the Coordinating Committee. I also want to thank our ASHA ex officio, Kerry Chmielenski, for her guidance and leadership over the past 3 years. Kerry—an audiologist who now thinks like a speech-language pathologist—will bring her perspective on the professions to the Audiology Practices division of ASHA.
