It is with a great deal of pleasure that I introduce to you the Steering Committee (SC) of Division 16 for 2010. I have the privilege to serve as the Coordinator for this hard-working group, SC members Ellen Estomin, Lisa Keane, Ruth Callahan, and Laura Young-Campbell. I'm a speech-language pathologist in the Wausau School District, Wausau, Wisconsin. I previously served as the Special Projects Chair for the Division. Ellen Estomin, who continues as the Associate Coordinator for Division 16, is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She recently retired as the Special Education Director of the Pittsburgh School District and is currently an independent consultant. Ellen also serves on ASHA's Governmental Relations and Public Policy Committee. Lisa Keane, Speech-Language Program Specialist, Broward County Public Schools, Florida, continues as our Continuing Education Coordinator and monitors and maintains our e-mail list. Lisa also serves on the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council representing Florida. Ruth Callahan, Special Education Coordinator in the DeKalb County School System in the Metro Atlanta area of Georgia, serves as Committee Liaison and guides Division 16 committees as goals and priorities are met. Our newest member is Laura Young-Campbell, speech-language pathologist from the Matanuska-Susitna School District, Wasilla, Alaska. Laura will assume the responsibilities of Special Project Chair. She is currently planning our next Web forum on the topic of School Finance.
