Hello everyone and welcome to summer! The weather is warm and, once again, the view from my window is changing. The ice in the inlet is gone, the birds are singing, and the mountains are green, even with the touch of snow remaining. With summer being so short in Alaska, we tend to pack a lot in to our summer. For me, it is work tending to my garden and giant cabbages in addition to catching up with my professional reading. How do you spend your summer?
For my summer reading, I am starting with this issue of Perspectives. As professionals in the schools, we see all children, no exclusions. Sometimes it is difficult to find easily accessible yet thorough information regarding a disorder with which we have not had much experience. Other times, we might need an update on therapeutic strategies, a good reference, or to expand our knowledge base. I am sure you will find what you need in this issue as we explore CHARGE syndrome, resonance disorders, deafness and hearing loss, and stuttering. A special thank you to our authors for their generous contributions: Ann Kummer, Craig Coleman and J. Scott Yaruss, Laura Hohla and Christine Switzer, and Timothy Hartshorne and Kirsten Hissong. Additionally, I would like to thank our Editor, SallyAnn Giess, and reviewers, Lisa Chattler, Russell Morin, and Twhanna Green for this great issue.
