It is that time of year when we are gearing up for the start of school, and I will confess it is bittersweet for me. I don’t want summer to end because I really enjoy my time off with family and friends. However, I can't wait to get back into the swing of things and use the new techniques I learned at the 2015 ASHA Schools Conference. I enjoyed seeing and visiting with those of you who were able to attend the affiliates' meeting and I hope you enjoyed the treats.
Although I have been in schools for 32 years, I still have the typical beginning of the year jitters: How many sites I will have? Do I have enough time to see all the students? Will I have administrative support and the materials I need? I am sure I am not the only one who has these thoughts, it is the nature of starting anew. Because I love what I do and I love working in schools, I'm ok with these unknowns because, like you, I am flexible and will adjust to what comes. We are professionals and this is how we do things.
